BBC World Service Health Check – 28th April
I was a guest on the BBC World News health check program, presented by Laura Hammond on the 28th April. The main guests talked about Covid19 in India and fitness.
I talked about the new malaria vaccine – designed by the same group at Oxford University that came up with the Covid19 vaccine that is now being produced by AstraZeneca.

Prof Adrian Hill and his team at the University of Oxford have been working on malaria vaccines for decades and this is not their first vaccine to be tested in the field. The amazing thing finding is the level of efficacy – just how well it protects children against malaria. The results published involve 450 children in Bukina Faso. So we await with eagerness the next round of results in a year or so from studies that will include thousands of children across many different countries across Africa.
